Trying to restore a Acer AiO computer with USB recovery

    Hello,

I work at a computer repair shop and I have a computer that's come in that is giving me some unusual issues. I replaced the hard drive with a brand new one out of the box. So now when I boot and attempt to use the recovery USB that was made in Windows 8 on the same computer I'm given the option to "Troubleshoot" or "Turn off your PC" so I choose "Troubleshoot" then select "Reset you PC" which results in a error message saying "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing.".

After doing some research online I found that apparently formatting the internal drive to a empty NTFS partition will help the problem and it did not. I've also tried formatting the the hard drive using DISKPART into every format it would let me with the same result each time.

So at this point I was thinking perhaps my only option would be to attempt to manually extract the .wim files on the recovery USB although even after doing some research I've come up empty handed on how I should proceed. I added a picture of the .wim and part wim files (.swm) on the USB below.

If anyone can help me solve this issue it would save me alot of hassle.

Check if the partition table of the Recovery USB and the new HDD will match MBR<-> MBR or GPT <-> GPT.
It could be that the BIOS is reset to default during changing of the HDD.
Is the size of the new HDD smaller then the Original HDD.

I've already tried both mbr and gpt and I've tried the BIOS with secure boot on and off as well as having csm on or off all giving me the game error. The new HDD is the same size as the original.

    Just thinking out loud.
You probably already have done this, use a usb 1 or 2 port instead of usb3

I think this tutorial should help you to restore .wim files. https://www.winhelp.us/restore-windows-re.html

Yeah, I've tried both the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports on the computer and both give the same result.

As for the .wim files the only ones I have (as shown in the picture above) are a boot.wim file and several install.swm files which to my knowledge are just a type of .wim file that's split into several .swm files. So the tutorial you sent me is not helpful.
