skip first screen & skip password screen SOLVED
My 8.1 machine goes through 2 screens before the desktop loads. I have Classic Shell installed and have tried to delete these first 2 screens through the settings in Classic Shell and the control panel. They are still there.
What I am talking about is the first splash screen that appears at startup. It is a big colorful rainbow kind of graphic, with the date in big letters. You have to right click to get it to go away, and then it loads a screen that requires entering the password to proceed.
I don't want either of these. I want to go right to the desktop. I don't need a password.
Any help for this problem? Thanks.
THIS WORKED. IT REMOVED BOTH SCREENS:
First, under System Configuration/Boot, I checked "No GUI boot"
Then I changed the user name/password setting:
a. Press “Windows Key + R”.
b. Type “netplwiz”.
c. If prompted by UAC, then click/tap on Yes.
d. User Account pop windows will appear.
e. Uncheck the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box, and click/tap on OK.
THANKS BRINK
