ACER Aspire V3-112P Windows 8.1 Sin Lang with Bing Needed

Last week I bought an ACER Aspire V3-112P Windows 8.1 Single Language with Bing with x64 bit for my wifey. Her job needed to install Linux for some technical purposes and its over now. I have missed creating a recovery image and now I want to revert it to Win 8.1 .

I have tried almost 5 win 8.1 OS so far which is downloaded from torrent & sites here. Its always asking for the product key .

I have installed win7 and tried to fetch the Key using RWEverything site and got a Product key, None of of OS I loaded accepts this product key too. I understood from the site that Win 8.1 will pick the key automatically from the BIOS/UEFI

Tried contacting ACER for a recovery CD and they asking for 1/3rd of the purchase price of laptop for new recovery disk.

Can any one help me here coz I don't want to spend too much on this. Can Any one upload a recovery image created from same type acer .

Your support is much appreciated and thanks in advance..

As you have already found out - the BING edition of windows 8.1 is an OEM only OS
and is not available for download anywhere...

If you have a way of accessing your HDD you can run a few commands to see if the Factory recovery Image is still present on a separate HDD partition

Boot from any windows 8.1 setup media and when on the INSTALL screen
press SHIFT+F10 to bring up a command prompt..

    Type> Diskpart
    Type> select disk 0
    Type> list volume
    Type> list partition

Post a pic of that cmd windows and info

I can't even get that ISO on MSDN. You'll likely have to go to places you shouldn't to find an ISO. Try what KYHI posted first.

If Linux was installed, it killed it. I think that my dad has my copy of 8 Pro.

I can still download the installer for 8 or 8.1 Pro.

Jacob You should be able to pull the key from the Bios and go that route. Or just bite the bullet and buy a OEM copy of ten at newegg.com.

I use Linux Mint 17.2 on my main machine and can do everything that I could with Windows. If I have to use a software that I cannot get for Linux, I jump over to my wife's machine.

This should work in pulling her key out f the bios. https://itsolutionsblog.net/3-ways-t...8-product-key/

Sorry but the KEY is not an ISSUE here...
If the Factory Image of BING is gone.. He will have to purchase a New Product Key

Regardless of Bing that came with the machine. The key for that copy is still in the bios.

All Microsoft did was pay OEM's to install the Microsoft Crapware that really was not needed. But the Key is still embedded like any other version of 8.

    The KEY IS USELESS
if you CAN NOT GET THE OS

What part of that do you all not understand ???

I have installed win7 and tried to fetch the Key using RWEverything site and got a Product key, None of of OS I loaded accepts this product key too.
I mean Really ?? All this about a Key and not even the question by OP..

    @broe23:

Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help

If you're running Windows 8.1 with Bing, contact your device manufacturer for info on how to get installation media for your edition of Windows.
How to download and clean install Windows 8.1 if you have an OEM computer with UEFI firmware (BIOS) embedded Windows 8/8.1 product key. -> link

Note: You need to download the correct version of Windows 8.1 that matches your UEFI firmware (BIOS) embedded Windows 8/8.1 product key.
Note: You will not find the correct installation media, if you have an OEM computer that came with Windows 8.1 with Bing or Windows 8.1 Single Language with Bing preinstalled.
Note: If you have an OEM computer with UEFI firmware (BIOS) embedded Windows 8/8.1 product key, the Windows 8.1 installer should automatically detect product key from UEFI firmware (BIOS).

Note: If you are being prompted for a product key, it means that you have the wrong installation media and that's when the Windows 8.1 installer can't detect Windows 8/8.1 product key from UEFI firmware (BIOS).
Note: When installation is finished, Windows 8.1 will be activated automatically, if your internet connection is up and running.

genet I already know about that. The problem is that the OP has a branded version of Windows 8 that has a specific key and that they can only get the disc's from Acer, since they did not create restore discs.

We all have been arguing that the very first thing that should be done, before making an account, is that Microsoft needs to force users to make restore media.
