Unable to fix recovery partition ASUS / Lost recovery

    COULD NOT FIND RECOVERY ENVIRONMENT
    (I know it's a redundant thread but I think I'm having a different scenario)

Specs: (nothing's changed except I did reinstall win8.1)
    - win8.1 x64 single languange
    - 1TB HDD

    THE SCENARIO
There was a time when I want to resize my drive C to smaller partition:
I used Easus Partion Manager to do so (to dumb I was). After rebooting my system could not start
    The BSOD showed up:
    RECOVERY
    PC needs repair (blah3x)
    Error code: 0x000225
I was able to manage to repair and I came back up fine using a tutorial in youtube
using bcdboot C:\Windows /s (any drive letter): /s uefi
At this point, I downloaded a new copy of windows8.1 SL, thru "mediacreationtool" (as a legit copy i suppose)
and then I reinstalled using the ISO from MS, now I'm totally OK, at least at the moment.

    THE ISSUE
Seems like everything's working as it is now, but as soon as I try to press F9 upon boot up, same error popup
Error Code: 0x000225, and again I got used to doing the bcdboot method.
NOW, this "Restore" partition the size of 20GB, and appeared and it had something in it (some files I think).

This wasn't there before and after reinstallation of win8.1 SL. IT ONLY appeared when I pressed F9 then I repaired
    it using bcdboot.

    MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
If there's a way that I could restore my notebook pc back to day one: Or am i that close? (close enough)
If this could be fixed? I know its risky but I will take it as a new learning curve. Or will I just have to accept that I'm doomed and there's no way to possibly get it back and learn from it?
Am I still having that original recovery drive that ASUS provide when the laptop was purchased based on the screenshots?

(expanded view of the Restore partition)

Referring to user #genet here, I used the methods to possibly recover the lost partition

I also set the ID's to recovery and enabled the reagentc.exe (reagentc /enabled)

I did tried every thread I could find that could help me some were posted by #genet

After setting ID's to recovery, here's what happen
    (the Restore partition was gone)
    but it's still here:
MRE (partitions that were set with recovery ID) outlined in blue
Outlined in red is the Restore partition, but this time, it has no drive letter*

Then after a series of procedures I've done here's what I got

    >>>>
I guess I'd totally messed up my system.
Im in an endless loop. IDK what steps I need to revert or to continue on doing, I'm in great trouble right now.
BUT the Recovery Index / location is still 0 (empty)

    p.s.
I tried my best to be as detailed as possible

I need your help guys. I totally lost it.

So Im not entirely certain on what you are asking here. Your computer is unusable right now, or you cant get the recovery partition to work correctly?

Im really sorry about the confusion, My laptop is working now, yes, it's just that I think I could not use the Recovery partition in ASUS but instead I have to insert all the time the DVD I burned from ISO I downloaded using the mediacreation tool to activate the refresh and reset feature and if I don't I will receive "Insert Media" Some files are missing etc. Though it stills exist somewhere in my 'HDD but there's no way I could use it back. I did try to set the ID's to recovery. (I did not format anything I just reinstall windows)

    you have 3 WinRE (Recovery) Partitions = 2 5 6
2 is the factory WinRE Partition
5 is the WinRE partition that the current system is using
6 is from an update or reinstallation..

What is missing is the registration of the factory (recovery) image on partition 8

what you need to verify is the location of the factory Install.wim or Install.swm(s)

right click start flag > command prompt(admin)
    type> diskpart
    type> select disk 0
    type> list volume

You will see a lot of volumes without drive letters assigned.. Find the 20GB volume number
type> select volume # (# being the volume number without a drive letter)
    type> assign letter=R
    type> exit (to exit diskpart)

You can now browse thru R and find Install.wim or Install.swm(s) - those are your Factory recovery Images..

    type> reagentc /disable

Note: Assuming the install* file(s) are on "R" and in a folder called "RecoveryImage"
Note: Change "drive letter" and "folder name" to suit your system setup

    type> Reagentc /Setosimage /Path R:\RecoveryImage /Target C:\Windows /Index 1

    type> reagentc /enable

    reboot PC

just read you other post -
the RecoveryImage Folder is sitting in the Recycle Bin on partition 8
you need to assign a drive letter and RESTORE those folders...
Then try the ASUS BackTracker tool again..

Everything seems to be back to normal now. Topnotch! KYHI for a great help. Couldn't have done it without you.
The only thing left is to actually test this.

REMINDER: Never use EASUS Partition Master to partition C:\ drive esp. OEM PC's with recovery partition and learn from my mistake.

This kind of confusion is the reason I dont use recovery partitions. I always use either a DVD or a flash drive that I keep the recovery media on. None of this confusion. It just works.

    I Agree...
But OEM's decided not to included a 50 cent DVD Disk..
OK, maybe a dollar now, due to inflation..
As I haven't purchased Disk Packs in your years...

    Recovery backup successful

UPDATE: In addition, I was able to successfully backup recovery using ASUS Backtracker

    Thanks to KYHI

Though I may I have some minor issue regarding the storage space of the Flash drive. ASUS Backtracker requires at least 10GB of space to create a recovery disk:
as you can see that it only uses 40% of it and I think Ive wasted 60% of space of my 16GB flash drive.
When I try to use 8GB (base on the ss above), here's what I got:

Now, it made to wonder, why need at least 10GB (of 16GB) space when it seems to fit in an 8GB? I think it does not make sense, unless I will be enlightened that it's just the way it is
