Any one have an idea how to get my computer to stop booting me off many times while using? It stops connecting to the modem and gives me the following message "default gateway not available". I follow instructions and the computer reconnects to the modem. This has happened ever since I got my dell inspiron. ANY IDEAS?

Possible bad gateway/router. If you are using WiFi, it could be poor signal quality.

I think I found a solution

Which version of Windows you're using? However, here's a solution for Windows 10 (I'm using it). Let me know if your version is different.

In case you're getting this problem on Windows 10, make certain that you have the most recent Ethernet driver installed. To introduce it, simply visit your motherboard producer's site and go find the most recent Ethernet driver for your gadget. After you download it, install it and the issues with gateway ought to be settled.

A few users guarantee that you can settle this issue by changing the Power Management settings of your network adapter. To do that, follow after these basic steps:

  1. Press Windows Key + X to open Power User Menu and select Device Manager from the given list.
  2. Find your network adapter and double tap on it.
  3. Once the Properties window opens, go to Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
  4. Tap on OK to save changes.

Have a look at these reference if it doesn't work.
