    How strange - I do not remember that as an option when I initially right-clicked on the node under file explorer. After I followed the post just above it IS an option. Could I actually ahve MISSED it? Gack.

    I like to show screenshots so people can see what I'm talking about.
    Your post was basically mine without a picture.

    Then too, he is using Windows 10.
    I'm using 8.1 Pro.

    Maybe an answer can be found in Ten Forums-

    True, but you must understand the FIRST thing I thought of was "Rename" and I did not see it as an option! I went straight to Properties and, of course, that took me away from the File Explorer. So, after looking at the registry and doing a Google Search and reading a bunch of hits I posted the "solution" I "found" without ever seeing Rename...duh.

    I think I actually was so concentrating on Properties that I simply missed Rename right above it...sheesh.

    How to change the icon name "computer" to "Computer"?
    Interestingly, on my PC that particular iconed app is named "This PC" (as is the top-level file explorer node); I have none labeled "Computer" or "computer". I vaguely remember that top-level node being named "My Computer" under some prior version of the OS.

    As such, yours appears (to this not-very-knowledgable Windows user) to be a post-install manual name change, suggesting it can be undone.

    ====

    Post-post addendum: I found numerous places in the registry that have the string "This PC". That suggests the string is set ELSEWHERE like in some type of policy editor, etc. You could look for an exact match on "computer" to see how it appears in your registry with the understanding that "This PC" is an unusual string but "computer" probably isn't.
    It shows "computer" instead of "This PC" because mine is 8 instead of 8.1...

    [Tips] Tweak and Customize Windows 8.1 Explorer

    Code:
    Microsoft has changed name of "My Computer" to "This PC" in Windows 8.1. Although its just a change in name but many people don't like this new name and they want to rename it back to Computer or My Computer.
     You can actually rename "This PC" to any desired name quickly and very easily. Just follow these simple steps:
     1. Open "This PC" window and click on "Up" button present in toolbar. Alternatively you can press "Alt+Up arrow" keys together.
     2. It'll open Desktop folder. Now right-click on "This PC" icon and select Rename option. Alternatively you can click on "This PC" icon and press F2 key to rename it.

    3. Now type any desired name and press Enter.
     That's it. You have renamed "This PC" successfully.
    I followed these directions up to the point of actually typing in a new name. Since I simply do not trust uSoft or any Windows implementation in situations like this (*), I didn't ACTUALLY change the name though I could have.

    So...YMMV - tread carefully.

    ====
    (*) IMHO, there is NO reason for there to be multiple entries in the registry with the string "This PC" - since I don't trust uSoft to get things like this right, I would fear that one or more of those locations will not change if I follow the above instructions (though they should), causing unknown maybe-future problems. I've been wrong about such fears before.
    Quite complicated, Thanks anyways.
