Windows 8 Desktop Language Bar - Registry Setting

In this tutorial How to Turn the Desktop Language Bar On or Off in Windows 8 and 8.1 Shawn Brink explains how to turn on/off the language bar in Windows 8.1. Step 8 of the tutorial shows us how to set Windows to use the classic Desktop Language Bar instead of the Metro version of the Language Bar.

I was wondering if there is a way to toggle this setting for all users on the computer using the registry or Group Policy. I work for a school, and our Language Lab needs to use the Desktop version of the Language Bar because the Metro version does not have any of the advanced options of the Chinese Simplified Pin-Yin IME. That or I need a way to turn off the Auto Adjust setting of the Chinese Simplified Pin-Yin IME.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Scott

Follow the procedure explained in the last paragraph on this page, under the heading Configuring the Language Bar.

It contains a link that explains how to create an administrative template, then it has a short script that looks like it will do what you want it to. Try that and see if it works for you.

Thank you Arazel for the tip. Unfortunately the article is close, but not quite. I already have the (Metro) Language Bar docked. When the user logs in, a PowerShell script runs that sets the various language options for the Language Bar.

    Code:
    # Add Spanish, Chinese Simplified Pin-Yin, French and English to the Language Bar
    $OldList = Get-WinUserLanguageList
    $OldList.Add("es-MX")
    $OldList.Add("zh-CN")
    $OldList.Add("fr-FR")
    $OldList.Add("en-US")
    Set-WinUserLanguageList $OldList -Force
This gives me the Metro Language Bar

What I need is the classic Desktop Language Bar that is enabled via step 8 pic of my original post.

I need the reg key, group policy or a script to change the Language Bar from Metro to classic Desktop.

Unfortunately Im not able to find anything on switching from metro style to classic style. Maybe someone who knows more about it will be able to help you.

However from what you are showing me it looks like it should work the same. What do you need from the classic that you dont have in the metro?

When you switch to the Chinese Simplified Pin-Yin, and you start typing in a word document, it will Auto Adjust back to English. I need to disable this feature. The only place that I can find to do this is on the classic Desktop Language Bar.
