DCOM Error events showing up quite a bit

I'm getting quite a few errors showing up in the event logs like this:

Code:
The server {BF6C1E47-86EC-4194-9CE5-13C15DCB2001} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

and

The server {1B1F472E-3221-4826-97DB-2C2324D389AE} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Looking into those "servers" via a registry search says they're both skydrive related.

I =thought= I disabled skydrive (onedrive) via a Group Policy setting.

So...how do I get rid of these error events - SOMETHING has come back to life in this system that is causing these messages to show up MUCH more than they used to - admittedly, they're an irritation more than something critical.

Is it possible you were installing software? If you set something in Group Policy it can be overridden by the Windows Installer because the installer runs as SYSTEM. I had IE set not to run in Group Policy. Somebody who wrote an installer for a program I installed explicitly launched it and up it acme. So I had to uninstall IE to make sure it didn't come up.

No, unfortunately, I wasn't actively doing anything interesting - just booting the system. It looks like DCOM thinks something skydrive-ish is supposed to register with it still.

I had OneDrive refuse to run for me. It just acted like it was loading, then quit with no error msg. I reinstalled and it seems fine now. Perhaps a resinstall with it allowed will then let you disallow it?

It has been a long time since I read about programming COM and DCOM stuff. I am sure there have been many changes since I dabbled in it. :)
