how do i repair windows 8 on a lenovo laptop?

Hello i just signed up to this forum because i really need help with my laptop and also realizing my love for tech recently computers havent been a big focus in my life the last couple years but im spending more time on the pc these days and im enjoying messing around with kali linux. Thats one of the things that brought about this issue with my laptop a couple weeks ago i dual booted kali linux on the same harddrive as windows 8 after that i wasnt able to get back into windows 8 and i was only able to use kali linux and so i used kali linux for a couple weeks with no problems at all pretty much and then yesterday my lenovo laptop wouldnt run kali linux properly after i turned it off manually with the power button it would give me a bunch of errors that ive never seen before in the grub bootloader menu. So thats not working at all and im left with no working os on my laptop and i cant figure out how to fix the issue i know im probably going to have to wipe the drive and start over and it sucks i have alot of stuff on windows 8 and linux has a bunch of pictures from this trip that im currently on in idaho :/ but i cant even seem to figure out how i can fix this because on the lenovo laptop i cant figure out how to get into bios i think its a little different vs other pc i got into bios to do the kali windows dual boot by going into setting in windows 8 i know having a repair cd would possibly do the trick but i think you have to make one of those in windows? can someone please give me some advice?

My guess is that your hard drive has failed to the point that the boot files, both in Windows and Kali, have been corrupted.

If that's true, your only useful option at this point would be to do the following:
1) Get a new drive
2) Install Windows and Kali on the new drive
3) Connect the old drive to the PC with an adapter
4) Run data recovery software to extract files from the old drive and copy them to the new one. For Windows, I would recommend using Active@File Recovery Pro -- it's not free but it's not expensive; for Kali, I would recommend Testdisk or Photorec.

I would advise against that.

Drives don't fail in a predictable fashion, as in a little more each day. They can be working fine one day and totally failed the next. And when it does completely fail, you won't then be able to read anything on the drive. I had a Seagate go from unreliable to totally failed inside a week. The sooner you run data recovery apps against it, the better your chances of recovering anything.
