'Reboot and select proper Boot device. Windows 8 Help pLz

this started popping up about a week ago. then after a few restarts my computer said repairing disk errors like a week ago then my computer was working normally. after a couple days the computer just went back to sayign reboot and select proper device. i need help on what to do. can you guys please help me. a lot of forums say "Change the boot order and list your computer’s HDD first" but i have NO idea what the means. im not a computer genius so excuse me if i said anything wrong i need help quick . thank you. my pc is DELL with windows 8 pre installed on it:(

What's the brand and model number of your computer? If you can, please also check the motherboard brand and model number as well since this step require us to know more about the BIOS / UEFI.

I dont think changing the boot order will help anything. This error usually only comes along when the computer tries to boot and has exhausted all its boot options trying to find a properly formatted boot disk/partition and cant find one.

Im really wondering if you dont have a failing HDD. That could cause the intermittent boot error.

FalconFour Ultimate BootCD

Download the latest version of that bootCD and burn it to a CD. Boot from that CD and run one of the disk checking tools and see what it says.

@arazeal i will try that. but @cipals my desktop system name in bios when i checked is a Dell Inspiron One 2330
