Any key will cause windows 8.1 to boot

So last night I was about to reboot my pc to make my usb modem work better and apparently windows had some updates to be installed (not quite sure about this because there wants anything in the shut down button). PC got stuck for at least 15 minutes for "preparing for windows" screen and I was kinda in a hurry so I hit the power button to boot the pc. Then right after restarting there is only "A2" visible in the lower right corner of the screen and pressing any key will just boot the pc. Theres not even Motherboard picture visible after booting like it usually would be.

My pc is only a few months old and heres some specs:
    windows 8.1
    intel i-5 4690k
    gtx 970 8gb ram

If the only solution is to reinstall windows 8.1 could I just install windows 7 instead? I'm very disappointed with this and I dont want to get windows 10.

Hitting the power button while it was updating corrupted your file system, you should have waited for it to finish. Check your manual for the factory recovery option. It may not work now though. Did it ship from the factory with Windows 8.1? You can't install Windows 7 unless you have a valid product code to use. You can get Windows 8.1 install media here, Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help if you don't already have it. Did you create and recovery media when you got it? If you did, you can use that to restore Windows 8.1.

    Hello,
When I today tried to boot this PC it somehow started to work again, I perhaps still managed to run it in safe mode or something but I perhaps have to be cautious if anything like that would happen in the (near) future. So if my computer would again get stuck in that "preparing windows" thing what should I do? Just wait even overnight if it would even help? Or how to prevent it from occurring again? And another thing is that I cannot install some minor features like network tool 3.5

If it actually gets stuck with no progress, you don't have much of a choice. But I'd wait a while though to confirm its actually locked up. The progress display can look like nothing is happening and then suddenly update the % done.

So far PC appears to be working mostly normally but now it usually shuts down with a bluescreen error "MSRPC_STATE_VIOLATION". According to Bluescreenview its caused by msrpc.sys.
