Another person with the "Failed to schedule Software Protection service for re-start at 2115-08-05T01:22:57Z. Error Code: 0x80070005." error...
AGAIN...
I say "again" because this issue is plastered all over the internet. I've searched and searched and have tried many things, but I still get this error every 30 seconds in my event log.
I've tried deleting and re-importing the 3 tasks from the SoftwareProtectionPlatform folder in Task Scheduler... I've exported/imported the tasks as they are, I've deleted and imported copies from a month and a half ago from my own system (before this issue started), and I deleted and imported copies from someone on the internet who was nice enough to provide their own copies. It didn't help.
I checked the registry to make sure that the last traces of the tasks were being cleaned up...
I checked that sppsvc is running under the "Network Service" account.
I've checked ACLs on all sorts of folders... And registry keys...
Oh, you're going to tell me to do "sfc /scannow" ... well that command doesn't work for reasons unknown. I posted about that a year or two ago, no resolution.
