For the past few months, Windows Explorer will stop responding randomly or upon startup (depending on my luck) whenever I click an icon on my taskbar or my desktop. It would work after it restarts itself normally, however the reason I'm reporting this now is because I've been trying to install a program on one of the computers, and every time I attempt to run it as an admin or doubleclick install it the old fashioned way, WE just crashes.
This has also happened when I've attempted to change the what file extensions are associated with what on other files on my hard drive. I attempted to change security permissions, which helped somewhat, but it still managed to crash in the end.
