I bought my wife a new PC yesterday with Win 8.1. She doesn't want W10 and this morning the download is in her updates without reserving it.
I hid it until I found out how to delete it. But when she tries to download her other updates it tries to download 10 before the other updates. Please, how can I remove it?

Hello,
So yes just hide that update with all those updates that were installed gone you should no longer receive the windows 10 upgrade.
Do you still receive it?

The download update is now hidden.
But when I get new updates and I select with a check mark it says it's downloading Win 10 but in actual fact it is only downloading the update with the check mark.

I was hoping that I could just get rid of it permanently.

Yep, I did.

It just goes to show how invasive Microsoft can be because we never requested or reserved Win10 on that particular machine. But they are trying to push it on us anyway. Grrrrrrr

I think what you're seeing is an erroneous "Downloading Windows 10" blurb whenever ANY update is being downloaded. I have the same thing here, and I've seen others mentioning the same issue. Windows 10 isn't actually being downloaded, but it gives you pause every time you see it! I have not found a solution.
