Random errors, windows explorer constantly freezing/crash

Two days ago, windows explorer would crash about every 15 minutes or so. Then yesterday I woke up to my computer saying "Your computer could not be automatically repaired." and I was stuck in an automatic repair loop. I did a system refresh and was able to get into the computer again. But after about 5 minutes windows explorer crashed and wouldn't reopen so I restarted. Then I got a screen that said to search "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" so I did what that said to do to fix it, but now my computer only boots into "Checking Disk: 0%" or "Repairing Disk Errors" and neither make any progress after hours. I am able to boot in a preview mode of Ubuntu from a thumb drive but I can't access my main hard drive because windows is in hibernation. I have files on my computer that are irreplaceable such as family pictures and activation keys for different products.

If you are running =only= Ubuntu then you should be able to access any part of any drive on your machine using numerous utilities available. For example, you could copy your target drive to another destination drive with, say, "dd" then work with the copy. Google has lots of hits for such type of recovery.

I'm not familiar with the "preview mode of Ubuntu" however you for SURE can boot Ubuntu (or some lesser Linux) standalone from a thumb drive and then access your hard drive either raw or even mounted as a FAT32 or NTFS disk.

[if you are getting disk errors or memory errors I for SURE would not want to be using Windows that actually USES that disk; you want to preserve the state as it is NOW and fix from there. Maybe "memtest" would be a good place to start - available online and works standalone and will not touch your disk(s) - just does a thorough check of memory]

It might be good to check the hard drive too.

Absolutely.

However, since the aim of the OP is to preserve hard drive contents it's real important to not use a destructive drive tester. The link you provided looks like Yet Another Great Tool that's about to go into my software toolbox. I only skimmed the linked page but it appears on that skim that this drive tester can work under Windows (which the OP would NOT want to do) as well as standalone so that suggests that it is nondestructive.

But someone who actually knows this tool (like you!) should probably comment on that angle.

So I was able to get my important items from my hard drive using Ubuntu and installed a clean install of windows 10 and after that the "Scanning and repairing drive (C:)" percentage actually started moving so I left it on all night and almost all day the next day. I went to the store and when I came back my computer was off and when I tired to turn it on nothing appeared on my screen as if the graphics card had failed. I switched to my spare graphics card and it still didn't work. After a few minutes of being on it just switched off and restarted.

Sounds like you have trouble because you did not BACKUP your stuff.

Macrium Reflect free is easy to use.

Just get a usb drive large enough to contain your OS.
Many tutorials here on how to use Macrium.
Search the Tutorials.

Sounds like you have not tried Troubleshooting in Control Panel either.

Sounds like you haven't used the options in Administrative Tools either.

Check them out.
The options are many.

I'm not in the mood to explain them all.

You can discover them easily without any more help.

What exactly do you see when turning on the pc?
Please describe in as much as possible details, or make a film of it.

This so we can easier troubleshoot and rule out as much as possible.

The monitor receives no signal as if the graphics card had failed but I have tried two different graphics cards and the same thing happens. I am starting to think it is the motherboard because I have gotten errors from the ram, hard drive, and now the graphics card.

It could be that they are all failing, but that would be really odd.
Do you have another motherboard so you can test if the problem indeed lies in the motherboard?
Unfortunately, replacing the motherboard is so far I know the only way to check if the problem is with the motherboard.

Unfortunately the only other motherboard I have is about 7+ years old and is probably not compatible. Should I take it to a repair shop? If I do it will be expensive just to find out the problem.

You could, the best is to take it to the shop where you bought it because of the warranty.
In most cases when there is something defective they will replace it for free, but in some very rare cases you have to pay a little bit for something special.

By the way, have you checked the cables if there is something loose? It is 1 the first things you should check with hardware.

I checked the cables to the hard drive, re seated the ram, and replaced the graphics card. Any other cables I need to check? Also I have moved away from the store that I bought it from and I believe my computer has been off the warranty for about a year.

There are no cables that I would think of that needs a check.
Or you have a good friend from who you can borrow a motherboard (which is compatible) or you'll have to go to the shop.
