Just built a new PC with an ASUS X99 Deluxe Mother board. I have installed a new SSD drive and two SATA drives from my old computer, along with one new SATA 2G HD. I plan to migrate data from the old drives to the new one. All the drives show up in the BIOS but when I boot to the OS the new drive and one of the old ones does not show up in Windows. I have installed all the ASUS drivers in windows, and I am now wondering if the OEM version of Windows 8.1 that I purchased has a limitation of how may drives it will support. Can someone please clarify?

I just checked the Device Manager, and it turns out that Windows does register the drives, however I still cannot see them in Windows Explorer, puzzling, any one have any suggestions? DMWIN8.png

I figured out the issue with the new drive it needed to be initialized in disk manager, and formatted for NTFS. that was simple enough, however I still have an older drive that I know works, that shows up in Disk Manager as Foreign.

Foreign Disk issue

OK, so I figured out my own issue, all I had to do was import the foreign disk in disk manager and now it's all good, coping data as we speak, hope this helps someone....

Good thing you figured out everything on your own. Just let us know if you have questions.
