Solved Rick click taskbar programs, OS images cover text.
Hello,
This problem comes from my new Dell Inspiron 15 (5000 Series i5547-3750sLV ) that came with Windows 8.1 installed. When I right click programs that are pinned to the taskbar, images from the OS cover text in the window.
Notice the thumbtack image over the "unpin this program from taskbar" line. The same thing happens with the red x image next to "close window."
My system:
I have tried changing my screen resolution and theme via Windows. I also tried adjusting various settings (brightness, contrast, resolution) in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.
I also went to Windows 10 (which did not have this issue) then reverted back to 8.1 (for other reasons) through the downgrade feature. 8.1 still had the problem so I did a system reset which took several hours and did not solve the issue.
I am considering doing clean install with a flash drive. It would be great to avoid the trouble of finding and downloading all the necessary drivers.
Any ideas as to what is causing this issue and how I can fix it?

It's this update KB3072318 that seems be the cause, try uninstalling it.

Thank you both. I uninstalled KB3072318 and the jumplists look normal now. It is good to be freed of that ugly colored background too.
I guess I just did not know how to describe this issue when searching. I was missing the terms "jumplist" and "pin."
Thanks again!
