I'm having a serious proble with Get Windows 10 App
my Windows is 7 x64 SP1 with genuine all updates installed
I tried several ways to fix this problem with no luck
things I tried :
1-win10full_fix.bat file with all methods
2-manually launching GWX.exe but not launching
3-re-installing KB3035583 update and rebooting
4-forcing GWX.exe to launch with this script:
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Appraiser" /v UtcOnetimeSend /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
if NOT "%errorlevel%" == "0" ping localhost >nul &goto :CompatCheckRunning
schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Setup\gwx\refreshgwxconfig"
5-changing edition with Windows AnyTime Upgrade ( Home Premium to Ultimate) but not showing
GWX has its issue. It is really nothing more than Nagware. If you want to download the esd-iso to install 10 within 7, download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Once you download and run the tool. It will ask if you want to put the image on a USB thumbdrive or on a DVD.
After I tried to solve this problem by myself by creating some registries on the file in regedit OSUpgrade I finally reserved my windows 10 without Get Windows 10 App or GWX
So I need someone to create a CMD script which create the following registries automatically
Registries :
open regedit
and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade.
if you see this registry : ReservationAllowed with the value 0 then change it to 2 ( this will reserve your copy of windows 10 but the following registries are required)
next we need to add some registries
right click > new > DWORD (32 -bit) value and name the registry as : AllowOSUpgrade with value of 1
right click > new > DWORD (32 -bit) value and name the registry as : KickoffDownload with value of 1
right click > new > DWORD (32 -bit) value and name the registry as : KickoffSource with value of 0
right click > new > DWORD (32 -bit) value and name the registry as : OSUpgradeInternet with value of 1
after creating all the registries close regedit and go to Windows Update , you will see that Windows 10 is ready to download !!
I would still burn the ESD image to a DVD or Thumbdrive, so you have it in case something happens. I clone both laptops in my house with Clonezilla to our NAS. That way if something royally gets screwed. I can pull an image prior to the issue.
