booting time too long, opening files/desktop takes Forever

Yep, I am back. I posted before and everyone was very helpful but my computer is running slower than ever AND when it DOES boot up if I click on a program to open or open a file it just spins and spins, No idea what is going on.

I run CCleaner, and Malware Bytes Anti malware, not showing any problems.
    Anyone have any ideas??????

    Thanks in advance,,,,,Eileen

Run SFC /SCANNOW to repair any errors. Run DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH to correct any errors SFC is unable to fix.

You may need to uninstall updates KB3022345 and the related update KB3068708 for SFC and DISM to run correctly - see DISM Command Fails

Use Autoruns to disable any startup programs, services and driver not required (be careful). I've just upgraded a system and found some of the boot delay was due to an external USB HDD having a partition marked Active instead of Inactive (I used Mini Tool Partition Wizard to adjust this).

Additional information for the answer from Steve C.

Run sfc/scannow in admin command prompt, reboot and try it again. It may take a few tries in order to solve the problems
If sfc/scannow is unable to repair the problems you can use dism commands in admin command prompt. For explanation about a these commands please read the dism tutorial by Brink

For the KB3022345 windows update please read #7 dism command fails.
There is no need to uninstall this update.

Perform all the steps above as they have mentioned.

If neither of those fix your problem, I recommend refreshing your operating system.

Beware, you also may have some failing hardware. A lot of times if you are having slow response times and slow boot times, your hard drive may be failing.

Do a hard drive check by this command

Open an elevated command prompt "in the search box, type cmd, right click on command prompt, click, run as administrator"
    Type chkdsk C: /F /R

This test may take 2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of your hard drive.

Also on Windows 8, it may get stuck at 10% or some percent in that area, don't be alarmed as the test is still running. It took my computer an hour to finish, but I have a 250 gb hard drive.

You could do an in place repair install which preserves most programs and settings instead of a refresh - see Repair Install Windows 8

I would add the /V switch to the CHKDSK command to give you some feedback on what it is doing since it can stick at a low percentage for hours then quickly complete.
