I have built some media files (photos, songs, videos) on a separate 1.5TB internal drive formatted in NTFS. Some were built using Windows XP Pro. I then added a SSD and installed Windows 8.1 Pro on the same machine and added some more files to the media drive using Win 8.1. I waited awhile until I built a media center and then tried to modify some of my files on the media drive and find:
When I select Continue I get:
With Security tab I get:
When I click Advanced I get:
It appears the control of this folder and subfolders is with the Administrator of XP Pro OS. I still have the hard drive the XP Pro was installed on but I can’t recently boot to it – I get a blue screen to do a CHK DSK and a STOP: OXOOOOOO24 + some more numbers in ( ).
I’ve tried takeown and get:
HELP!!!! I’ve been working on this for days and I’m at a lost on what to do to gain access. I’ve read and tried the tutorials in this forum and others but to no avail.
Can anyone help me????
