PC Messing About

This morning my wifeput on the pc and went to her desktop, she has been been in for a long time now. She got a Hi! screen and a message that We are setting this up for you!!!! Then it asked her how she wanted a shortcut opening although its been on IE since day one (it does not use FF).

HUH?

Then Later on, I came on board and found that several of my icons had reverted to default. eg: photoshop changed from my normal elements icon to default shortcut.

I've not been messing with 10 on this at all. So I asked a support tech to come and have a look, same one as normal came down the wire and he knows my machine. He looked around for 30 mins including putting a copy of Office in for me, and he said that the pc is one of the cleanest he had been in!!!

I have AVG Internet Suite, Spybot and Malwarebytes.

You do not need to pay anyone to fix the computer. You came here because you need the help to figure out what is wrong.

You did mention about Windows 10. Did the computer just do an upgrade to Windows 10 yesterday or is it still Windows 8.1?

no no. I have a annual contract to fix and improve, it was not a desperate measure, and not at all expensive. My pc is still on 8.1 and, as stated, I've not been messing with 10 at all on the pc. I have been trying to download it into the laptop, to test it out, with zero success, even with media installer.

It did it on its own, this morning!!

this is fun!! NOT! I am finding that log in details are erased, software codes need to be reinput (not all) - something really strange going on here. I have done runs with spybot, malwarebytes, AVG and nothing found. I have just had to log back in here, never had to do that!! Two options methinks, do a win 8.1 repair or go straight into 10. Decisions decisions.
