    Hide me: WIDCOMM Bluetooth Tray App in Notification Center

    Alright, so I've looked around at the Eight Forums, debated on posting this in;

    • Installation & Setup
    • Performance & Maintenance
    • Network & Sharing
    • Drivers & Hardware
    • Customization

    Alas, I've decided to put this up here. What I would like to do is to remove the Bluetooth tray icon from the Notification Center. (I can hide the icon and messages, but it comes back.)

    Is there a way to remove the icon, but keep the Bluetooth driver? (It was SUCH a pain to find the appropriate drivers for the Bluetooth card built into this laptop. DELL Wireless Minicard 370 with a WIDCOMM software driver.

    Hi, if you are not using Bluetooth - turn it off and the icon will disappear.

    Bluetooth is considered a Networking device. Unless you plan on hiding the Network connection in the Task area. That is the only way to hide it. Customize Notifications for Networking to only show if there is only a Notification.

    Problem is, I already tried that, and it keeps switching back to the Show Always option.

    Update:

    Apparently, disabling the startup service for the tray icon, but not the communication protocol (drivers) works. Problem SOLVED!

A few months ago I created a partition on my hard drive. I set the partition size to about 38gGB. Of the 38GB, only about 19MB or so is left. In intentionally left little space. The partition is a copy of all of the date from an old laptop drive. My issue is that Windows 8 keeps popping up a...
