Unable to delete newly created zip folder

I created a zip folder to send in an attachment to someone, it contains a fee CSS files, and a TPL file.

I successfully managed to send it, but when it came to delete it I can't. It says that I required permission from the computer administrator to change the file. When I attempt to open the archive, I can't, and when I attempt to move it, I can't.

I then tried the take ownership trick, but it hasn't changed anything, here are my results attached to this message. Literally, I created it then not even five minutes later it's corrupt and can't be used.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can possibly to get rid of this file?

Addition: I've tried through PHP on my local server, and I get:

Warning: unlink(C:\Users\Christopher\Desktop\Panther\Panther.zip): Permission denied in F:\localhost\www\test.php on line 2

and I've gone into:

[Right Click] -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced.

From there, I get the error that I must have administrative privileges to continue, so I click Continue, then get the attachment below. I've also checked my disk for errors and none have been reported.

I moved it over the application, and it appeared to work at first. But when I attempted to delete it, then same thing happened :(

I've started an sfc /scannow off now, but I honestly don't know how much difference (if any) it will make. No wonder everyone hates Windows if things corrupt this easily ...

The sfc scan has now finished, but it says "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to repair them". I've attached the log below.

I've tried the CACLS command you posted, but although this again seemed to fix the problem, when I went to delete it, I still got the message that I needed permission from the computer administrator.

I must confess though, I've taken a look at the runas command, and I'm not entirely sure how to use it - or what I would launch using it as I'm already running command prompt as an admin.

Seems the runas comand doesn't work like sudo. There is this: Sudo for Windows download | SourceForge.net
which should do as you want, run elevated as yourself instead of admin, which requires a different password.
Use your login password for sudo.
(and I'm about at the limit of my knowledge of this, for windows anyway)

The only other thing I might try (unless an expert has a better idea) is boot to a Linux cd, don't install, just use try mode , and nuke the file from there.

You can use the ntfs-3g driver from Linux to delete just about anything short of a corrupt master file table entry.

Try this native windows tool though, it uses a driver and a couple nifty methods to delete files, and always works so long as the file actually exists and isn't just a corrupt entry.

(Beware during install, the adware that is packaged. Opt out!)

Thanks for all these posts. I was going to reply stating something else (I can't remember what now) when my old issue appeared again: http://www.eightforums.com/browsers-mail/64139-cookies-only-setting-one-tab.html

I then exited my browser, and ran a Malware scan. As per usual, MalwareBytes saw the PUM Hijack, and I removed it. Doing so seemed to let me remove the entire folder on the desktop with my archive in, as I've just tried now. I have no idea at all of the connection, maybe it was a delayed reaction, I have no idea ...

Unfortunately though, cookies are *still* only setting in one tab again. It's incredibly frustrating. I've ran CCleaner about four times and still, my Google account is only setting in one tab. I've re-opened my browser and I'm still facing the same issue

I'm going to run a disk cleanup & defrag shortly while I'm on, but I'm really sick of this, when things go wrong, they really go wrong .....

I've just tried now and it doesn't appear to have made any difference. Even just pressing Ctrl + K to duplicate the current tab fails and keeps me logged out.

I tried changing the settings, exited my browser, ran CCleaner, restarted my browser and the same thing happened.

Did you reboot computer first, after the changing setting?

No, though when I rebooted the computer it seems to have fixed itself ... for now.
