You can set your computer to automatically log in. This is obviously a security risk but I'm sure you know this so...

    Winkey + R

In the run dialog type: control userpasswords2

Untick the box that says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

    Click apply.

Enter your password. Click OK then OK again.

    Reboot

    ??????

That has nothing to do with why you should enter a password. The password is meant to protect your data and information. If you follow hydranix's advice, you will technically still have a password, but you won't be prompted to enter it. Some malware can look for accounts that don't have a password and set one, which effectively locks you out of your own computer.

This article should be a good starting point: Signing in to Windows without a password.

The method I posted is superior for that reason. Since the password still exists for all aspects of Windows, it still protects, it just isn't required to log onto the computer when you're physically in front of it. If your computer is physically compromised, only encryption will protect you anyway.

As for Windows passwords providing any real protection however, is just not true. You can easily remove a password from a Windows user account via the registry. Likewise, you can boot to another operating system with an NTFS drivers, or even the UEFI firmware with NTFS driver and access all the unencrypted data on the disk without any restriction.
