Windows suddenly deactivated & some programs corrupted

The other day, I uninstalled Avast Antivirus using Revo Uninstaller. Unfortunately, I blindly trusted Revo and deleted all of the leftover files. About an hour later, I saw that there were some updates that needed installing, so I restarted and walked away. I come back and it's telling me that my login info is incorrect (for my Microsoft account), and then when I figured out that it had reverted back to a previous password, I came to find a blue screen telling me I needed to activate Windows. I attempted to do so and it told me I had failed. Everything else was working fine, so I figured I would finish what I had started in Microsoft Excel. However I had come to find that that was no longer working (along with the rest of Office). Neither were iTunes, Chrome, or my wireless adapter. I haven't been able to reinstall Office, but I fixed the last three, and I'm sure there are more. It also turns out that not all of Avast was removed, and what is left cannot be deleted.

I have done everything I can to try to reactivate Windows but I have had no luck. Everything either tells me that my key is invalid (which it should not be, as it came with this laptop that was sent in a factory sealed box and has not been altered in any way). I have been unsuccessful in attempting to refresh Windows through a few different methods (the Media Creation Tool hangs at the final step, and the others tell me that it can't connect even though I am fully connected). Even restarting the computer has become a pain, because it wants to complete the update installation that began all of this, then fails at 35% and undoes everything.

I've gone through most everything I can think of and most everything I've found online, and for the first time in roughly 23 years using computers, I'm just honestly stumped. At this point I know I'm probably missing something stupid. I'll post any info you guys need, just let me know.

For starters, I am using a Dell Inspiron 5558 with Windows 8.1 64-bit with an Intel Core i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz

You need to contact Dell for further assistance - they can provide you instructions and even a CD installer of your Windows operating system to reactivate it. Please do not reinstall using other Windows CD installer since there are pre-configured packages for Dell computers only.

Another thing, Avast actually offer an uninstall utility that you can find here: Uninstall Utility. Use this in the future should you decide to do so.
