    No, when I start up I just use CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to the task manager and can open stuff from there

    Well... it seems the problem sorted itself out. I have windows back. Not sure what happened there, it wouldn't even let me bring up anything using Shift-F8/F9 :/
    Thanks for the assistance though, I will remember this tactic if something else happens o/

    For heck of it, run these both, let me know how it goes.Your welcome !

    From Admin command prompt copy and paste, then press enter

    sfc /scannow

    Same command prompt copy and paste this, press enter, let it finish

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
