How can I consolidate icons on multiple screens

I apologize for asking a really stupid question, but I have never been able to solve this problem.

I have a five screens attached to my computer: 2 directly and 3 via Diamond USB to VGA converters.
When I reboot, the desktop icons sometimes appear scattered randomly among two or three screens.
How can I easily consolidate them on my main screen?
The only way I have found to do it is to move them one at a time and then sorting.

Is it the Metro Tiles, or the Desktop icons? As long as you have it checked "Align to grid", keep Auto Arrange off since it will always sort them in a certain order, to lock them on that desktop that you want them on. They should not be moving around. They will usually change if you are changing resolutions for say a game.

It is the desktop icons that are the problem.
I have "auto arrange icons" off and "align icons to grid" set.

Then most likely it is something that you are running, that is changing the resolution, to cause it.
