Explorer.exe is freezing every so often and I wanted to use 'Bluescreeview' to try and find out the problem, but it doesn't work.

I have 'procdump' running and I want to view the .dmp files it created, but nothing happens when I try to view the .dmp files in 'Bluescreenview' created by 'procdump'.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

dmp files are only created when you see a BSOD (blue screen of death) not just because windows explorer freezes (the creation of *.dmp files can be disabled) also what is "procdump" not part of bluescreenview as far as i know ? do you mean this utility Blue screen of death (STOP error) information in dump files. ?. it will automatically analyze your *.dmp files and you can see what caused the crash also make sure you have the correct path to the *.dmp files set options => advanced options .

ProcDump can help in finding out which app is causing the freeze. It creates its own dump files which I wanted to have a look at, but can't seem to open.

Yes, the link for 'Blue screen of death' ('Bluescreenview') is what I wanted to use to open the dump files created by ProcDump, using the 'Load a single minidump file' but they won't open.

Hi,

Couldn't you set that path in advanced settings to the location where your *.dmp files are saved then it should work.
