Hello, everyone, I am using Windows 8.1.

This question has to do with File Explorer’s Move/Copy To options in the ribbon. I’d like to know if it’s possible to completely clear that list. I’m not interested in editing the list, just clearing it.

I found this thread on this forum, but it seems like it deals with editing the list, not clearing it.

It doesn’t seem like it can be cleared. Am I wrong? Thank you! Jd

PS: I know how to add the Move To and Copy To options to the context menu. But I really do want the Move/Copy To ribbon menus cleared, that’s all. Thanks again.

Can you post a picture showing what you want to clear?

The only Move to and Copy to I see is under Home. Is that what you want to get rid of?

Try clicking 'File' in File Explorer, then go to Delete History and run both options.
Also, try right clicking your task bar, choose Properties and go to the Jump Lists tab. From here, try disabling the options.

Thank you for responding.

Rich, yes...I was referring to the Home/Move To\Copy To options in the ribbon, yes.

That didn't work for me, but thank you for bringing this option to my attention.

This DID work! After I disabled this option, the list cleared. I enabled the option again, to give me control over what appears in that list. If I want that list cleared again, I can disable it again. Thank you.

I didn't even know they were there as I never use them.
