Is windows 8.1 professional faster than windows 8.1 home edition? Especially for playing games?

Neither is really faster. Pro just adds some additional features and allows addressing more RAM (memory) than home.
I have systems with Home and with PRO. I see no difference.

There's no speed difference since they both use the same kernel. As fireberd said, Pro adds some additional features but under the hood they're the same.

Yea, don't see how one could be faster than the other when playing games or anything else. Pro has just a couple more features but the same core OS.

All editions of Windows 8 share the same code base and run the same applications the same way. Windows 8 Pro has some features necessary for use on large business networks and some others, few of which would be of use to a home user.
