How long does it take your computer to boot up???

I posted another thread here about my computer taking 7 Minutes to boot up. This is a brand spanking new laptop.
I got great support by the genius' here. Deleted a lot of "bloat", I am now booting up at 1min 45seconds.

    brooksndun says...
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)
hey, you still need an SSD.. anything over 20 seconds is ridiculous in 2015..

Does anyone have a SSD????? Trying to decide if it is worth $100 for one.

Please post your boot up time. Thanks!

In the other thread, I only answered directly to your question and took out most of the junk. Now that you ask about SSD (Solid State Drive). Is it worth to have it in place of HD, The answer is YES, especially for Laptop.

    PRO:
    1. SSD Read/Write operation will be a lot faster than the regular mechanical HD.
    2. Generate almost no heat, keeping your Laptop cool.
    3. Run longer before recharging your battery because there's no moving part (no platter spinning)
    4. Boot time will improve tremendously, may be will take less than 30 second to boot up.

    CON:
SSD is more expensive than the regular HD. The cost for an SSD is about $100 for a 120GB SSD but that's all you need to store your Windows OS. If your Laptop have another bay to use your current HD as a personal storage media then it would be perfect.

From hitting the power button and to reaching either the start menu or the desktop takes under 15 seconds. Add another couple of seconds to open IE and arrive here. A full restart takes around 40 seconds. No SSD either, just a Toshiba MK3261GSYN 7200rpm drive.

Something that is important is the speed of his hdd, his hdd makes 7200rpm, which is normal for a hdd.
Your hdd makes 5400rpm, which is below average.

Yes Samsung is hard to beat in any category. If you have 2 drive bays then 250GB is the best size faster than 120 GB models. if you only have 1 drive bay you might be better served with a 500GB or 1 TB, One thing for sure is you won't regret it ever. I think the other poster that is getting 15 Second boot with a hard drive is not fully booting he is starting from Hybrid Sleep mode ie "fast boot". You could do this too for faster boots My 3 year old Asus G75 boot to desktop with full use of my mouse in 17 seconds that includes loading 8 Gadget pack with 3 gadgets that I use daily. I also use Classic Shell which adds nothing to my boot times. I have fast boot IE Hybrid Sleep turned off it is not needed with a quality SSD. And I like to have my notebook fully shut down every time I shut down.
