Yes I have noticed this on my new Z97 board almost a minute to boot about the same software. More Drivers to load it appears
Not sure, have 2 processors listed, why ? Good SSD too Pro version. Not sure has to do with hardware differences too, amount of hardware.
We know definitely start up items have an effect. My AV set to normal boot time protection meaning loading during boot. 16 sec. although restart will take longer for me.

Well it looks like I will have to hold off for now. Hubby says if we replace the hard drive we will void the 1 year warranty on the laptop.
    MAJOR BUMMER!!!!!

Do you get any kind of warranty with the SSD's?
    Darn I was so close...

Thanks everyone for your input and expertise!

Ofcourse your warranty will fall, for almost any kind of opening, replacing, reconnecting or whatever you want with the hardware, because they don't want you to touch it. (Depends on your manufacturer how strict it is)

Just bought a crucial mx200 250GB, I'm really curious what my boot time will be as its normally around 5 seconds. Get it tomorrow and have to play a lot with my space to reach less than 225GB.

First off this depends on manufacture warranty but most allow you to upgrade the hard drive.
your 5 second boot time is from Hybrid Sleep. Your SSD will be about the same from Hybrid Sleep however it will most likely accomplish a full restart or boot from true off in about 15 to 20 seconds depending on what all you have loading besides windows.
I have no Idea what Crucial warranty is Samsung 850 Pro have a 10 year warranty their Evo line is 5 years there older models were 3 years. My Intel 530 has 5 years. I have hybrid sleep and Hibernate and fast boot turn off my boot times are around 20 seconds on my notebook 30 or so on my desk tops desktops are slower since they are loading more devices during boot up.

I'm not upgrading my HDD, I'm replacing my cd player with the SSD because its cheaper to replace the cd player with the SSD than replacing the HDD and I don't want to loose the 1TB of my HDD + I don't have any warranty anymore since a few months. My father, who paid 50%, wouldn't let me replace anything if there was any kind of warranty.

I'm aware of what and how with my boot time
But its just that it feels like it takes forever to finish the boot time, I only hope it will feel differently when my ssd is installed with windows.

For one good idea have a CD ROM unless always want to use USB Flash Drive. Don't feel SSD going to be cheaper then a CD ROM.
