Hi all,
I got a problem as I cant merge back my partition after I upgraded my system to windows 8.1. I create a partition after I bought this laptop to put my personal stuff but I didn't really use it. After awhile I updated my system to windows 8.1 and now I can't merge back my partition anymore. Is there any solution to fix this??

First, download: Bootable Partition Manger | MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable Edition and use: Rufus - Create bootable USB to create a bootable CD/USB.

  1. If there's any data in F: you wish to save then move/copy to C: or another place such as external HD.
  2. Open Disk Management, right click on F: ->delete Volume then you'll have a 195.13 GB unallocated space.
  3. Reboot your PC with the CD/USB created above. Right click on the 450MB recovery partition and select Move/Resize. A window will pop up, click and drag the partition to move toward D: drive. Click OK then click Apply from the top left to commit the change.
  4. Take out the CD/USB and reboot back to Windows.
  5. Open Disk Management and right click on C: ->Extend Volume.

You are moving the 450MB partition to the right of the F: 191.31GB partition. Then you boot back into windows and use Disk Management to expand C: to include the space where F: is/was.

[DEL]You may have to delete F: first to make it free space if the expand of C: doesn't work or is not allowed.[/DEL]

Never mind, I see you were instructed to delete it first thing.

NOTE: The screen shot with all disks listed is from my PC so it would be different from yours. I just edited the "Move/Resize Partition" screen to reflect what your disk partitions look like.

okay quick question, I am also in the same boat, regarding the problem OP is having. You are suggesting 3rd party partition manager to merge it. Is it not possible to merge it using Disk management? Because thats the tool I used to divide two partitions. Also I had a very bad experience with EaseUs partition manager, so staying away from all 3rd party partition managers.

This is a very detail explanation! Thank you very much and I finally solved this!
