Large GPT installer on 64GB usb stick

Hi Everybody, I have the following task to complete:

1. use a 64GB usb stick
2. integrate all updates in the windows 8.1 x64 iso
3. install the thing as UEFI/GPT.

#3 requires fat32, which gives me headace: how can I create a fat32 partition on a 64GB stick?
#2 creates the problem that the install.wim exceeds 4GB and has to be split. However I've read on multiple sites that the /split image command for dism doesn't work.

Is there any RELIABLE (preferably Microsoft) solution to create a fat32 partition on a larger stick and chop up the install.wim?

Sorry for the clumsy title, I see now the question landed in the GS topic, even though I submitted it to here: " [h=3]Create a x64 Windows 8.1 UEFI install USB - Windows 8 Forums"[/h]
