Random blurry windows when using regular laptop screen?

I have a 1080p laptop w/ Windows 8.1. When I first started the OS I had to go through a bunch of programs, locate each .exe file, and right click>properties> Disable high DPI scaling to get the programs not to look horribly blurry. I use it with a monitor a lot and don't have any issues with blurry windows, but when I take it off the HDMI and use it regularly, random windows will be blurry. For example, when I was using it without the monitor, I right clicked my OS drive to perform disk cleanup. The properties window where the Disk Cleanup button is was clear, but the actual tiny Disk Cleanup window was blurry... I also have issues with the notepad windows being blurry.
To be clear, the onboard screen is 1080p and the monitor is 1080p. I am only have issues with the onboard screen.

If udating the video card drivers did not work or even going to an older version of NVIDIA Driver does not work, has to be something with settings of monitor itself maybe. Think you might be on right track with checking scaling, look at settings in NVIDIA control panel too and display in control panel

Now that i look at it more, disabling might not be it, mostly says disabling it for third party software does not support High DPI Scaling of Win 8.1. Not be for Windows applications itself.

    Take look here too https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn528847.aspx

I looked in my nvidia program thing and I saw nothing helpful for this. I'm also looking at the link and trying to see if I understand what it says to do.

Which thread ? No i do not have Classic Shell, might be a cause, i am not sure though. As said third party programs are ones may have issues more then windows apps or system apps with High DPI.

Not sure what this has to do with this post, but looks like a separation. Again if any of this has to do with why you have blurry picture.

Hello all. I just noticed this issue on my computer a few days ago and it's been bothering me. Some of the icons for the tiles on my Windows 8 are blurry.
