????? Care to enlighten use on the Metro apps that can do so much?
Right now, at this moment, metro apps can ONLY do so much, but they can't do it all. Maybe I should had stipulated that they can ONLY do so much, AT THIS POINT IN TIME. Windows 8 isn't mainstream yet, so not all of the developers are out there, but it's going. Even then, Office 15 won't be a WinRT app since the Office team couldn't get a whole suite built in RT that fast enough I guess.

But the one thing some apps do that I find nice, like for example apps from websites like Tom's Hardware, they don't had ads. There, so far, isn't a single trace of advertising which I find nice. It's just pure content from the site as it should.

Lets face it folks, when Windows 8 comes out there will be a large number of Apps ready to go. Then there will be a huge number of developers working like crazy to jump on the bandwagon of the Worlds most popular OS.

The World's most popular desktop OS is W7, or XP, depending on which figures you use.

I agree with Bill. This is a BIG, well thought out strategy for MS. So we have to write new apps! It's time for a change. Change is the only thing constant in he universe. It's THE driver of capitalism.

Thats what I like about Windows 8, it's a big change, fresh and exciting, I predict that Windows 8 will take less time to get where Windows 7 is now.

And I predict that you will be wrong, easily.

Just let most of know when the OS for adults is released, finished with the kiddie version.

You are very optimistic - at least for the desktop users. For the tablets, that is another story.

Maybe? But, how much will they cost? And will they be any good? Right now the App store is pretty bare and a lot of the so called free apps seem to be limited function versions of something the author would like to pay for. Not everybody is as enthused as you and Coke Robot are about Windows 8.

It might sound optimistic, but I don't think I'm wrong, naturally I'm talking Tablets and Desktops. People have shown they're crazy for Apps and Windows 8 will get plenty. They've also shown they want touch, regardless of what people on here think, when you combine the two, plus a full desktop, what can go wrong, right.
I don't think Microsoft is pushing for Business at this point in time, they'll do okay out of consumers for a while anyway, and they've advised business to go Windows 7.
