Hi, it's my girlfriend's pretty new Asus laptop with Windows8. First it started to be slow and then freezing etc. Now it doesn't even go to desktop. It starts scanning and repairing drive for hours and then it just shuts down itself. If I try to shut it down myself and then restarting it and then pressing spacebar it gives me some error 0xc0000185.. I don't have any disks for computer.

Sorry for bad English.. but what could I try to do?

You can boot into "Safe Mode" and then run those programs from the Command Prompt. See http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2757-safe-mode-start-windows-8-a.html Basically you repeatedly hit the F8 key or Shift+F8 while the computer is booting up. Here's an article on that process How To Boot Into Windows 8 Safe Mode | Redmond Pie

You could also make a Win8.1 Install Disk (either on a CD if you have a burner, or on a USB stick) then boot to the install disk and after the program loads choose "Repair this Computer" (rather than install windows). http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2227-create-bootable-usb-dvd-windows-8-iso.html There is a link here (step 1) where you can download the WIN 8 program and the USB tool.

Sorry, that took a while. Computer doesn't boot into "safe mode". I tried it with that guide. It just brings same "ASUS"-logo on screen and starts "scanning and repairing drive C", which it runs to 2% most of the time and then computer shutdowns.

And the second one, bootable USB. I think I did everything right but when I set that USB first option bootable from UEFI, it just starts straight to UEFI again. So, what I should try to do now or is there anything to do?
