Issue with Windows 8 RP resetting iteself

I upgraded my Windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 the day the RP was released. Since then, every two days it forces me to restore to a previous point, and any programs I've installed are gone, and any changes I made to the OS are gone, it how it was when I did the upgrade. This is very frustrating as I have then reinstall all my programs before I can get any work done. Is this a limitation of the windows 8 preview? All my hardware is working, no driver issues, the only warnings I got during the install was to reinstall a couple of programs, and these are the ones that are missing when it restores itself.

An update: The error I get is SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It's happened twice today. Computer is working fine, suddenly it will freeze, and when I reboot it, I get this error. Automatic repair fails, I'm forced to do a restore back to the initial post windows 7 upgrade state.
