Windows shunk when desktop unlocked, help!

Hi,

I have an issue I cannot resolve and ask if anyone knows how to fix it?

Basically I have IE/win explorer window sized to a preferred size and width, but if they are open on the desktop and my computer locks after inactivity or I manually lock it, when I input my password and unlock the desktop all the windows have shrunk and moved to the top right of the desktop and I have to manually resize them all again

I just cannot find a solution to this and I have to continually resize them back to how I have them.

Also when I open certain windows programs, they always open to the top right and never in the center of the screen, which is annoying, so I have to drag to the center to see them properly, is this a bug in windows or can this be fixed?

Just as an experiment, change the setting for Taskbar AutoHide in Taskbar Properties. If it is checked, uncheck it and vice versa. Just to see if it has any effect. It sounds like something thinks the screen origin is not 0,0.
