This is weird. I have noticed when I make a shortcut, even for real compiled 64 bit exes. if I click Advanced Button below Run As Administrator it has Run In Separate Memory Space checked and grayed out. At first I thought it might be limited to scripts such as ahk. But I just checked CCleaner 64 bit.. made a shortcut, got that option grayed. My own MD5Hash.exe that I compiled x64 with Visual C++ and I know for a fact is compiled 64 bit code, same deal. Make a shortcut, click Advanced Button, grayed out option.

What gives?

Edit: what is even weirder is I logged off and signed into the real admin account and did the same thing. It creates the shortcut the same way with the grayed out enabled option. Something seems a bit strange.

I don't see anything unusual.
I have a trial version of Server 2012 running on a virtual machine and that option is always checked and disabled. As it should be.

32 and 64 bit processes always run in a separate memory space so the option has no real meaning there. The option is only useful for 16 bit windows applications which by default run in a shared address space.

It appears the same dialog template is being used on 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows. In 32 bit Windows the option will be enabled for 16 bit applications. As 64 bit Windows does not support 16 bit applications the option will always be set and disabled.

That makes sense. Everything I found in search referred to 16 bit programs so I thought something was fishy. Thanks for the clarification.
