One of the partners I work with deleted the main database backend file from his computer. Its not showing up on any recycle bin. Is there a way to recover it? Im using windows 8, file history was not enabled. Previous versions tab doesnt even show. Right now I'm using Recuva, its in the process of recovering but it will take 5 hours using the deep scan. What should I do?

You need to setup a backup regimen so this can't happen again.

Try installing Shadow Explorer and see if it can find a copy for you.

Shadowexplorer did not help. Would you happen to know where I should run the scan on the computer that deleted the file? Shouldnt that have a cluster? I'm unable to find it on my server where the file was stored.

Yes all 3 I mentioned can... if the files haven't been overwritten. I create the image or clone the drive prior to doing the recovery so I am not risking more damage to the file system.

What I'm concerned about is that it wont be able to recover the file because it was deleted on a different computer but the file was on the server. Would the cluster be on the computer is was deleted on or the computer that deleted the file?

The cluster would still be on the computer it was saved on.

unable to find it, its finding everything but the file I want it to... oh well. Now I learn to backup more often.
