Error Releasing/Renewing IP No operation on LAC*11

Hello! I am trying to change my IP, I am using Win8, I type in ipconfig/release and it says "No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection*11 while it has it's media disconnected"


I did "netsh interface show interface" and I get

Admin State State Type Interface Name

Disabled Disconnected Dedicated Ethernet
Enabled Connected Dedicated Wi-Fi​

It needs to be done on the Router/Gateway, while the machine is turned off. The Router has a set Lease time for an IP assigned, unless you use Static IP's.
