Location of stock desktop icons in Windows 8

I created a shortcut in Windows 8 that need to change the default generic icon.
I can't seem to find the file or folder where Windows 8 has the default set of desktop icons.
For Windows 7, I can point to C:\Windows\system32\imageres.dll - where I can then see a nice set of icon choices.
Does anyone know which system file or folder the default set of Window 8 desktop icons are located?

    Hello Techman,

It depends on what icon you were wanting. What is the shortcut for? I may be able to help find one that'll make a nice icon for it.

For a wider variety than Windows offers you could search Google for "free icons".

Thanks everyone, I was just looking for a location with a wide assortment like in Windows 7.
The shell32.dll path was perfect. I only wish they were high resolution, but yes as advised I may look online for some icon packs
