uninstalling language packs ?

so i want to uninstall all the language packs that i do not use, to free up space. i have a problem though, i cant find where to see the list of installed language packs. when im adding a language in the control panel, say, a completely foreign language, its not readily available, i have to download/install it first. for some languages this is not the case, take english (UK) for example, its available, no download needed, what i wish to do is find an easier way to see which languages are already installed without having to check each and every language pack if needs to be downloaded. i also dont see an "uninstall language pack" anywhere...
ive looked at some guides, and at the language tab in the control panel, where you can choose to add a language, they seem to have an "uninstall language pack" option, where i only have "remove". im suspecting the remove button just removes it from the language pack list, it doesnt uninstall it.

thanks, it helped a bit. still one problem, i cant really see which language packs i have installed, i happened to have swedish (finland) installed, and found that out because i selected that language at random to see if i could uninstall it or if i had to download it. do you know if there is a way for me to see which language packs are installed ?

A quick way to tell if you have the language pack installed or not for an added language is this:

(Installed - "Available")



(Not installed - "Available for download")

yeah, i know. thats the way ive been doing it so far, but i think its weird that i cant find any list of installed language packs, it would make it so much simpler.

i think thats stupid, because first id manually have to add the language to the list to even tell if i have the pack or not :/ anyone happen to know if i can see which packs i have installed in the file directory somewhere ?

It shouldn't matter since you would have to add the language before being able to install the language pack for it.

i dont want to install language packs, i want to see which are installed so i can uninstall them, im only using one language pack anyway.

I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say above. Adding a language is not the same as installing it's language pack. The point is that you would first usually have to add the language to be able to install the language pack to begin with. If you didn't do so, then it wouldn't have a language pack installed for the language.

Language packs are installed via Windows Update, so you can also view your update history to see a list of installed language packs.

If a language was removed that had a language pack installed (from update history), then you would need to add the language pack to then uninstall it's language pack.

yeah, precisely. i know i saw a list of 6 or 7 language packs that i had installed, i just cant seem to access that list anymore. guess i could take a look at the windows update history.
