Holy Kansas Topeka! I just finished installing Windows 8, without speech! It's ten fold better than the Consumer Preview! So far, it's fantastic, but of course, there still are a few bugs here and there, but it's getting exciting to see a nearly finished product! :dinesh:  :dinesh:  :dinesh:

The only thing that could possibly improve your information-packed post is more dancing elephants, and I wouldn't mind seeing some tambourines and flying spoons, too.

Install the new release and you'll see all those things and more, what you wont see is a start button.

It's faster, newer drivers are included in the package, windows will find the latest Flash Player version for you. It's almost a finished product.

I found that ALL of my peripherals were found and drivers loaded for them. I had a couple of programs that would not install even under compatibility mode in CP now installs in RP. Finally, I actually LIKE some of the Metro apps in RP!
Note: Because RP let me install my mobo's suite of programs, I am back to running Win8. Yea!

I agree that this version is so awesome! I hardly use Windows 7 now that I have Windows 8 dual booted with Windows 7 on my main pc. It is so fast and smooth.

I love Windows 7 but the release preview makes it look slow. It's actually a bit painfull going back to Windows 7.

What impressed me about Win 8 CP and this RP was that after installing it, I just turned on my ethernet-connected Canon MX870 printer and Win 8 saw it and installed drivers. I didn't tell it to look for the printer, it just automagically detected it (over ethernet).

It took about 30 seconds. Impressive, IMHO. To be fair, the scanner isn't showing up at the moment but if I install Canon's Win 7 driver pack it will work just fine.

Being able to open the start screen on multiple monitors is a big improvement. The start button appears at the bottom corner of any monitor. no more having to swap the start screen between them. and whatever is happening in the start screen will continue if you focus on another monitor (before it would stop)

At first I found accessing the charms bar actually more difficult than before but figured it out. only the very edges of the screen stick. other wise the mouse carries over to the other screen
