all office and notepad docs and pics removed from desktop

hi today i want to open my counter strike source game and when i run it Suddenly all my office and notepad and pics removed from desktop

i tried to use system restore and i back to yesterday

but its didnt back my files


and before that ( restoring) i thought my icons are out of desktop and because it i used select all and copy all in new folder and when i want to copy from new folder to desktop they was gone and didnt copied

I do not recommend storing documents or downloads on the desktop. Going forward, I recommend all data files and downloads be stored in respective directories. Maybe use your explorer.exe and goto: Users [your acct name] Desktop -- it's possible your files are still there. Icons that normally appear on the desktop are also stored there.

checked desktop path and they are not there

twice restoring to 3 days ago and i couldnt find them

how it possible to just delete the document files

and i am searching in win 8.1 start search but they cannot be found

You're probably going to need stronger data recovery tools. There are free ones, and there are those you pay for.

Do you have File History turned on and recording to another drive?(2nd internal or external USB)

For future reference, System Restore does not save or restore data files -- which is why it should be renamed Operating System Restore. What it does is save a copy of system files when they are changed as a result of Windows Update. When you later do a Restore, all it really does is overwrite the current system files with the copies it saved off prior to the change. It neither saves nor restores user data files.

The free image/restore tool I would recommend is Macrium Reflect.

Try this... Start button... search for Folder Options... click view... select show hidden files...
If still not found, try recovery tools like Recuva or EaseUS.
FYI... never store files on the desktop...
