    Hello windows8use,

See if you may be able to do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully fix this.

What you describe sounds normal to me and is the same as I see on Win 8.1 Pro X64.

I see Libraries below partition/drive selections, just above Network.

Open This PC, click on the down arrow to the left of This PC in the Address bar and Libraries is there also. Click on it and it displays current Libraries entries.

If, in Folder Options, General tab, you check Automatically expand to current folder, then when you click on Libraries the left Folder pane will move to show Libraries as selected.

Likewise, entering ::{031E4825-7B94-4DC3-B131-E946B44C8DD5} in the Address bar takes you to the Libraries display.

Can you right click on the Icon that represents Libraries? Can you rename it there?

Never mind, Rename is not a choice, nor is Properties, sorry.

What about doing a Restore default libraries?

Is your account a local account or Microsoft account?

As a test, create a new user account to see if it has the same issue when you sign in to it. This will let us know if it's just an issue in your account, or a global issue.
