Solved Suddenly Not Loading Many Websites (times out)

Hello everyone,

I hope there is a saint in here who can help me solve my problem.

I have had my computer for a few months and it has had no problems for the most part. However, I woke up this morning to it not loading multiple websites. It seems to load approximately half of all websites perfectly fine. The others, it will time out on. It is consistent which websites it loads and which it does not. For example, Gmail, Facebook, and Blackboard are working as normal, while Yahoo!, ESPN, a number of other sites do not.

Here are the facts:
Has been occurring for one day.
Some websites load, some do not.
The websites that load or don't do so consistently.
It is also consistent across both Chrome and Firefox.
Deleting cookies did not solve the problem.
Restarting the computer and the router did not solve the problem.
The problem does NOT occur on a similar but older (and Windows 7) computer I am using to type this.
I ran a McAfee virus check that turned up nothing.
All websites that don't work say "Connection Timed Out"

I am grateful for any help that can be offered. Thank you.

If McAfee itself is not the problem (try turning it off) there are few more things you can try:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset catalog
Netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show all
netsh int ip reset reset.log
netstat -abf 5 > activity.txt

netsh advfirewall reset
netsh int ipv4 reset

Wow, thank you. I had to look up what these were and how to do them as I went down the list, but netsh winsock reset has seemed to do the trick. Thank you so much for your help.

You're welcome, without actually seeing what was going on I had to give you all possibilities, glad it worked.
