    Error on start up DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

Win8.1 running fine, next day start up with loop trying to boot up and then restart. Error on screen (BSOD) DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. "..restarting your PC for you..." I wanted to try it in Safe Mode, but computer refuses to do that with either F5, F8, Shift F8 combinations. What I am reading is that safe mode is selected in MSconfig, starting with Win8. ?? How can one do that if it does not boot. I have all hardware removed except SSD, KB and Mouse. I can remove the W8.1 SSD and put in a SSD with 10049 (win10) and it boots fine without issue so I do not think it is hardware related.

Spent many hours trying to figure out how to fix this problem. Made a Repair Disk 64bit and got into the repair section and while trying various repair actions, the Disk was reporting "The drive where Windows is installed is LOCKED)? Went to CMD tried DISKPART, everything seemed normal. Out of desperation, I tried the command BOOTREC /fixboot. Did a restart, and went into BIOS and selected default settings, and the machine booted right up as if nothing every went wrong

I have never seen these type errors before while using HDD's, but in the last month, 1 Win7 SSD went away, 1 on Win8.1 and 1 on 10049. I like SSD's but I am loosing confidence in them. 2 of the SSD's were checked and doublechecked reformated and seem to be normal now. The 3rd fix was described as above. There is a scattering of SSD problems in the forums, has got me up on my toes. In the previous year or so, I had zero problems with them.
