To set permissions to change files and folders. Especially those that Windows doesnt normally allow you to set.

You want to set user permissions on all of your OS files? It doesn't sound that simple.

Actually I had just one folder in mind to set permissions to. How do I proceed?

If you can't set permission you have to take ownership first. Take Ownership of a File, Folder, Drive, or Registry Key in Windows 8

There is no way back from changing file and folder permissions though except of a full restore. A Restore point will not do it so try to remember what you change just in case. Or make a backup.

Hi adamf. Sorry for the late reply. So lets say I want to undo setting permissions on a folder. Can I do so by just reversing the steps I took?
